Our Iztapa Beach Shirt is cut from our lightweight, quick-drying 3Ddri fabric. On the water for hours means soft, breathable fabrics with innovative styling features like ventilation and adjustable coverage that make anglers and leisure boaters happy with all day UV protection. With a range of active sport UV protective styles ensures a day on the water is a day spent UPF 50+ sun safe. * The mesh ventilation panels featured on this garment provide increased air circulation to promote cooling and help the wearer stay dry. The ventilation panel areas of this product may be subject to lower levels of UPF protection when exposed to direct sunlight depending on use. We recommend the use of SPF and UPF protections for all exposed skin areas and areas that may require additional protection depending on your use. Read more Technical. Elegant. Sun Protection You Wear. The Coolibar Advantage Not all clothing is sun protective, and not all sun protective clothing is created equal. Some brands use a spray-on coating to achieve their UPF, but ours is woven in so it never washes out. Our philosophy merges fabric innovation and styles that are classic with exceptional design details so you stay cool, calm and covered. Clothing is the first line of defense against harmful UV rays. Our exclusive UPF 50+ fabrics will block 98% of UVA/UVB rays from the first day the product is worn until the day your garment is retired. Coolibar’s UPF 50+ clothing and accessories are wear-tested, designed for maximum stretch and comfort, and feel good against the skin. Every style, every design is UPF 50+. Our Mission. Keep the world safe from sun damage, protect those with a sun-related medical condition and prevent everyone else from developing one. We believe everyone deserves the right to an active, outdoor lifestyle in the sun, so Coolibar clothing and accessories are UPF 50+. Sun protection is our sole purpose. That’s why we custom design, produce and offer technically elegant styles in proprietary fabrics that block 98% of UV rays. As trusted experts in sun safety, we know the more you're covered, the more you're protected, and the more you'll enjoy a carefree life outside.
Coolibar products are tested & guaranteed to be UPF 50+ by a credible, independent laboratory. I feel confident that the clothing does what it says it will do, which is something that I always question with other brands that claim a UPF. IF IT'S NOT TESTED BY A RECOGNIZED, CREDIBLE LAB, THEY'RE PROBABLY JUST SAYING "UPF" & CHARGING YOU A PREMIUM FOR NOTHING! Do your research, all "sun protection" is NOT created equally! UPF clothing of any # isn't a substitute for using (reef safe) sunscreen on skin exposed to the sun.I regularly wear this to hike in the Pacific Northwest, and it’s comfortable, lightweight, provides spf protection, and honestly I think it helps against mosquitoes too. It doesn’t wrinkle easily and dries fast, so I love it for traveling. With leggings, it’s cute for the plane or train. It does fit a little oversized like a swimsuit cover up so size down or expect it to fit like a tunic. I wore it to hike the Camino de Santiago in Spain and it held up against the Spanish sun and heat, the daily washes and dust, and lots of sweat. I will definitely be buying more. I wish they had more light colored solid patterns. White felt too risky with the hiking and I don’t want black in the heat— so I went with light blue. Maybe a light pink, grey, or teal would be pretty!I decided to return this at first, because it is a bit pricy. But, then, I tried it on and realized that it is a perfect beach cover. Loose fitting is perfect for me bc I do not like tight clothing. Pockets…..very necessary if you decide to walk on the beach to keep your keys, and phone handy. The hood is a bonus bc the beach can be windy. To me, this is a perfect, all bases covered garment.Love the feel of this light jacket shirt. Was super excited to wear it on vacation but it arrived with a hole.I don’t usually write reviews, but as a person with skin cancer (and living in a place where I have no access to upf clothing), I want to provide any review I can to help out others who may be deciding whether or not to order upf clothing. I like this item as a light and airy-type jacket. Depending on how it’s styled, it can look amazing. It’s not super fitted or “sleek,” and definitely runs a little large - although when I button up all the buttons (which is probably not how I will wear it), I like the sizing, as it doesn’t pull or grab anywhere, and hangs nicely. The fabric is light as a feather, just like the fabrication on the Coolibar St. Tropez swing tank top. It’s got some nice detailing in the back, which makes it a bit more “edgy” than just a plain sheet of white flowing down. With skinny denim, sandals, and a tank underneath, it looks great open in the front with the tab-roll sleeves up. Throw on a sun hat or a ball cap, and you’re ready for an all-day excursion in the hot sun. I don’t see this being super dressed up - it’s more of a casual item - but it could be a nice thing to throw over a sundress to cover your arms. Of course, it would be a fantastic beach cover up over a swimsuit, but I don’t swim much since my diagnosis and surgery. I’ll put this on with a sun hat, tank, UPF leggings, and sandals this summer in the Mediterranean, and feel like I at least belong by the pool and ocean with everyone else!Bought this for my mom and she totally loved it!!!I like the shirt a lot. I wore it in 78°-80° temps and did not feel to warm. It is a little tight across the chest. I will only be able to wear it over a tank or other top.Decent design, definitely blocks the sun, theres a lot of venting spots on this which on the one hand is really cool for letting breezes flow through, however depending on the angle of the sun + the strength of wind -- the vents (esp @ the neck) will let sun in and defeat the whole point of this thing. Also the fabric material kind of feels like a garbage bag lol, it also stubbornly retains body odor.
